Cooper's Room

UPDATE 6/29/13
The finished nursery!

Mom and I made the changing pad cover...
The curtains and we covered the glider and ottoman.
I think they all turned out great!
I made the crib skirt and dyed Grayden's old green crib sheets orange to match the room.  Pretty awesome!
And the closet is all finished and ready for Cooper to come!

UPDATE 5/26/13
Don decided to put up beadboard instead of drywall... we had a TON of it saved up!
So he has all of bead board up and all of the shelves built.

We decided that it wasn't fair to Cooper that his closet wasn't big enough for anything as cool as the book nook in Grayden's closet, so we put in a little door from Cooper's closet right into Grayden's closet so they can share the book nook!
Grayden calls it his hidey hole.
The walls are painted in the room and now it is time to spray all of the shelves and walls in the closet.

 Grayden is ready to help!

 Overspray?  :)
One coat done on the closet.

UPDATE 5/19/13
This is Cooper's closet.  Most of the plaster is falling down already so it needs the rest of it pulled out and new drywall put up.

Time for the woodwork to get a final coat of paint!
And how do you like the new dresser/changing table?  It was an awesome craigslist find!

Benefits of being a painter... free paint!  This is high quality white wood paint that is $50 a gallon... we got a 5 gallon bucket for free!  AWESOME!

UPDATE 5/13/13
All of the walls are mudded and sanded and now it is time for paint!
Luckily Don liked how the ceiling was textured so it just needed a coat of paint.  Looks good!
Don also got all of the woodwork primed.

Now it is time to paint the doors...
Don is a bit OCD in how he paints... but we convinced him he needed a little help in the process.

Grayden did a great job painting the doors!

This Cooper's Room!
Here are some before pictures.
The plaster fell from the ceiling in the stairway and needs replaced.

Here is a picture looking up from the bottom of the stairs.
Nice wallpaper huh?
And, do you see the string on the left side?  That was someones good idea of a double light switch. You can pull the string from the bottom of the stairs and it turns on the light that is at the top of the stairs!
